The MG S5 EV, also known as the MGS5 EV in the UK, is a fully electric compact SUV that builds on MG’s growing range of EVs to offer zero‑emission driving with confident performance and modern styling, designed for families and daily use.
The MGS5 EV offers different battery options, including a 49 kWh Standard Range and a 64 kWh Long Range version, with the larger battery capable of up to around 298 miles of driving range on the WLTP combined cycle, making it suitable for longer journeys and everyday use.
The MGS5 EV is powered by an electric motor with up to 170 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque, enabling brisk acceleration and a dynamic driving experience; the SE Long Range model can accelerate from 0–62 mph in around 6.3 seconds.
The MG S5 EV is built on MG’s Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), first used on the MG4 EV, which enhances handling, responsiveness and ride comfort thanks to a lightweight chassis, rear‑wheel drive layout and a five‑link rear suspension setup.
The MGS5 EV features a spacious, well‑appointed interior with quality materials, ample legroom and headroom, and thoughtful touches such as a wireless phone charger, premium seating finishes and plenty of storage space for occupants and cargo.
The MGS5 EV’s cabin includes a high‑definition 12.8″ touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with an iSMART connectivity system that allows remote control of vehicle functions via a smartphone app.
The MG S5 EV is equipped with a suite of safety systems including airbags, advanced braking technologies and driver assistance features, while generous boot space of up to 1,441 litres with the adjustable floor makes it a practical choice for family hauls and daily life.
