Honda highlights at Paris and Cologne motorcycle shows

Honda attended the flagship motorcycle show in each of Europe’s two largest markets for full-sized motorcycles, with a number of attractions to bring motorcycle enthusiasts to its booths.

Neo Sports Café concept

A concept model created in Honda’s Rome R&D design centre will be on display at the Paris ‘Mondial’, in a new iteration of the ‘Neo Sports Café’ styling launched this year with Honda’s CB125R, CB300R and CB1000R naked motorcycles. The styling ‘language’ is modern and minimalist, mixing sports naked and café racer inspirations to create a unique new style of machine.

The new concept dials up the ‘Sports’ aspect of ‘Neo Sports Café’, with an ultra-short tail and vertically-stacked dual muffler. Futuristic head and tail-light, detailed machining and new surface treatments add eye-catching modernist elements to the essential appeal of a pure naked motorcycle.

The Super Cub C125 arrives

The Honda booth at the Paris ‘Mondial’ and the 2018 staging of the historic, biennial Intermot show in Cologne will both feature the latest version of a genuine automotive icon.

Honda’s Super Cub is the world’s biggest-selling motor vehicle. First introduced as the Super Cub C100 in 1958, cumulative production of the Super Cub series reached the staggering landmark of 100 million units in 2017, having reached half that figure in 2005.

The new Super Cub C125 marks the 60th anniversary of the Super Cub name. It retains the original’s famously approachable performance characteristics, and unique, timeless styling, while benefitting from a raft of modern technologies: a torquey 125cc engine, smooth and quiet semi-automatic gear changes, durable new chassis, long travel suspension, full LED lighting and a Smart Key. It will be arriving in Honda dealerships this autumn.

New colours for Africa Twin

Another celebrated name - the Africa Twin - returned to Honda’s motorcycle line-up in 2016, since when its all-round performance, genuine off-road ability and captivating looks have attracted over 36,000 customers. A new variant - the Africa Twin ‘Adventure Sports’ - with long-travel suspension, extended range and other adventure-focussed features, joined the line-up in 2018, and since its arrival this spring has matched the sales figures of the Africa Twin itself.

This autumn sees the arrival in dealers of a sophisticated new ‘Silver Metallic’ colour for the Africa Twin ‘Adventure Sports’, and revised colours for the Africa Twin. The matt black version now wears gold rims; both the red and tricolore versions have their classic ‘Africa Twin’ logo in black, and the tricolore version now borrows the beautiful royal blue of the ‘Adventure Sports’ version on its evocative paintwork.
