Cox Motor Group Provides Community Swimming Pool with Life Guard Uniforms

Published 07-03-2018

Carnforth Swimming Pool has recently become community owned, keeping it open after it faced closure.

The pool was handed back to Lancashire County Council from Lancaster City Council last year, and due to budget cuts, its future was under threat.

Carnforth Community Swimming Pool Limited has since been set up to take it over and took full control at the end of January, re-opening on 9th February.

Now relying on donations and grants, Cox Motor Group was approached to provide help.

As a great supporter of the local community we jumped at the chance.

In order for the pool to re-open the life guards needed to be properly kitted up, so we provided 3 uniforms for the team. Here are Gillian Mason and Jean Baines from Carnforth Pool pictured with Geoff Stothert, Cox Motor Group’s Sales Director.

Carnforth Community Swimming Pool joins a long list of local causes we support, including the North West Air Ambulance, Tyler’s Brighter Future, Halton Rangers, Lancaster Giants Girls FC, Wyre Juniors FC, 13th Lancaster Scout Group and many more.
