If you’re one of the lucky ones to win a British Superbike pass for the weekend with our affiliate team, TAG Honda Racing here are some things you need to know:
Wear your pass around your neck at all times and where it can by clearly visible by absolutely everyone. This further enhances your status within the paddock and ensures that you will be able to adhere to the rider ‘nod’ to those who are also wearing similar passes. Remember, you are now a part of the elite; this must be recognised. Word of warning however, as you adopt your new chest-forward posture be mindful of lower back problems.
If in the unlikely event your QR code does not scan properly at the gate upon entry, adopt the ‘do you know who I am’ pose. This can be established by standing feet shoulder width apart, chin up and name drop at least 3 BSB riders who you know personally. Instant access with an apology will be issued immediately.
Ensure that your paddock pass is featured in every single photo, this includes all selfies. This is a minimum requirement.
If you are one of the fortunate pass holders who are entitled to team hospitality, you must drink the drink, eat the food and feel at least too full to move for an hour in between races. It’s at this point you may make the sensible decision to leave before the final Superbike race on Sunday in order to beat some of the traffic; but that last cheese roll will stop you. Don’t worry, you can mourn your regrets during the three hour ride home. Occasionally the novelty does wear off. This is ok, don’t panic. Take a trip to one of the café’s or restaurants trackside and pay for a can of Coke. This will ground you.
Wearing a paddock pass also grants you a 40% increase in blagging. So go and get that safety car lap, go and get that garage tour, go and get that signed t-shirt, you’ve earned it!
